\nLalande de Pomerol[\/vc_custom_heading][vc_column_text el_class=”patchwork-page”]\"chateau[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text el_class=”satellite”]Located just a few vine rows from the superb 12th Century church in Lalande de Pomerol, the estate originally consisted of a gravelly 2-hectare plot in the commune of Lalande de Pomerol. It now totals 14 hectares. Eight of these are located in a single block surrounding a modern, functional cellar built in 1992. Fleur de Jean Gu\u00e9\u2019s winery has all the lastet technical innovations. Double insulation prevents major changes in temperature and small stainless steels vats enable single plot vinification.<\/p>\n

Careful winemaking methods and constant striving for quality in both the vineyard and the cellar have made Ch\u00e2teau Fleur de Jean Gu\u00e9 one of the finest wines in the Lalande de Pomerol appellation.<\/p>\n

WINEMAKING & AGEING<\/strong><\/span>
\nThe grapes are destemmed and crushed before fermentation. The wine is kept on the skins for 3 to 4 weeks before being run off and put into barrelled. A third of the oak barrels is renewed every year.<\/p>\n

Fleur de Jean Gu\u00e9 R\u00e9serve is made from old Merlot vines on a two-hectare plot. It is aged in 75 % new oak barrels, partially on the lees. Malolactic fermentation takes place in barrel.<\/p>\n

TASTING NOTES<\/strong><\/span>
\nThe wine is ruby red with intense raspberry aromas.
\nOn the mouth, flavours of blackcurrant and roast coffee are pre-dominant developing hints of apricot and soft spices.
